Maroubra’s McKeon Street Plaza has become one of the local stages for Randwick City’s year-long Amplify program, bringing live music into the heart of the beachside shopping strip.
The 2026–27 program brings professional musicians into streets, plazas and beachfront locations across Randwick City, with performances continuing until 26 June next year.
Will Baker Plays Maroubra This Saturday
The next Maroubra performance is this Saturday, 15 August, when Will Baker will play at McKeon Street Plaza from 11am to 2pm.
There is another daytime performance further south, with Erik Stripparo at La Perouse, adjacent to the Boat Shed, from 11am to 2pm.
Those heading north later in the day can also catch evening performances at Coogee and Randwick. Locos will play at the Coogee Rainbow Walkway from 6pm to 9pm, while Monica Prieto will be at Newmarket on Barker Street and Angela Paoki at The Spot, both from 6pm to 9pm.

A Saturday Soundtrack for McKeon Street
Amplify takes live music out of conventional venues and puts it into places where people are already spending time.
At McKeon Street Plaza, that means a performance can become part of a Saturday spent having coffee, grabbing lunch, shopping or heading towards the beach.
Maroubra is one of the program’s five main performance locations, alongside Coogee, The Spot, Newmarket and La Perouse.
Performances at these locations are scheduled fortnightly, generally in daytime slots from 11am to 2pm or evening sessions from 6pm to 9pm.
More Music Over Summer
The schedule becomes busier over summer, with Amplify moving to weekly performances from 5 December through to 9 January.
Boxing Day is the exception, when only one performance is scheduled at the Coogee Rainbow Walkway.
Two additional venues — Waratah Plaza in Randwick and Meeks Street Plaza in Kingsford — have also joined the program. They host monthly daytime performances for most of the year before moving to a weekly schedule over the summer period.
Together, the seven locations give musicians a string of informal stages stretching from Randwick and Kingsford to Maroubra, Coogee and La Perouse.
An Open Call for Musicians
Amplify is also designed to create professional performance opportunities for musicians across the area.
Randwick City is inviting artists and musicians interested in Amplify or future events to submit an expression of interest.
For Maroubra locals, the next chance to catch the program is close to home: Will Baker at McKeon Street Plaza from 11am to 2pm this Saturday.
