Maroubra Man Behind Bars For Christmas

Maroubra Man Behind Bars For Christmas

A 23-year-old man, Joshua Tan, will find himself behind bars for Christmas for his alleged part in a stabbing incident that occurred on Beauchamp Rd.

The December 4 incident left a 30-year-old man wounded with stab injuries to his upper body and legs.

Emergency services swiftly responded to reports of the stabbing, providing immediate medical aid to the injured man. He was rushed to St Vincent’s Hospital and is currently in a serious but stable condition.

Mr Tan was taken into custody on Thursday morning at a residence on Minneapolis Cres in Maroubra after extensive police inquiries. He faced charges related to the alleged assault and appeared in Waverley Local Court for a hearing.

During the court proceedings on Friday, Magistrate Ross Hudson denied Tan’s bail application, which means he will spend the upcoming Christmas period behind bars. The case is scheduled for a brief status mention at Downing Centre Local Court in February.
