This article explains the Skills Maintenance requirements for the 2025/2026 season.All require you to complete the online Skills Maintenance Modules – see how to access hereIf you have any questions, please contact Nicole at education@southmaroubrasurfclub.com.au Bronze Medallion & SRC All active patrolling members and competitors must maintain proficiency.​Requirements:Complete the Lifesaving CPR Update (booking required – details below).Complete Signals.Complete a Run-Swim-Rescue:Run begins from waist-deep water.Swim with a rescue tube (fins optional).Patient waiting at 100m marker; secure with tube.Timed component ends once patient is secured.Rescuer swims 100m back, assists patient to the water’s edge.➡️ Signals and the Run-Swim-Rescue will be assessed on patrol.Lifesaving CPR This season, Skills Maintenance includes a significant upgrade to resus for Bronze, SRC, and Advanced Resus awards.Our Education Team will run 30+ sessions between late August and early December. October 25 President's Note

A very big Surf Life Saving Welcome to ALL of our members.This week marks the return of Australia’s largest Nippers following on from the return of our Lifesavers several weeks ago. If you know of any lifesavers that for one reason or another that haven’t received re-joining information, we’d appreciate it if you could get them to make contact with our Lifesaving Team via adol@southmaroubrasurfclub.com.au . Ash will sort out any lifesaving concerns including rosters, rejoining and the new CPR upskill requirements which all lifesavers must complete.A big THANK YOU is in order as we head into the new season. To all of our Directors and Office staff that have been overwhelmed with calls and visits to the club for help and preparation for the new season, a big thank you. U13-U14’s KaMana COMMUNITY PERFORMANCE MINDSET AND HABITS WORKSHOP WITH SURF IRONWOMEN LIZZIE WELBORN

This month our U13 & U14’s Competition Team members participated in a special Performance Mindset and Habits Workshop with the inspiring Lizzie Welborn! Lizzie brought her wealth of experience and passion for surf lifesaving to share powerful insights on building mental resilience, creating positive habits, and developing a strong performance mindset. These are not just skills for competition but valuable tools for life.Our young athletes left the workshop feeling motivated, confident, and equipped with strategies to tackle challenges, both in the surf and beyond.A huge thank you to Lizzie for her time, energy, and wisdom, and to everyone who helped make this workshop possible. A Message From Clovelly Community Bank: Christmas Present Drive 2024

Dear friends in our community, Clovelly Community Bank has just launched our annual community Christmas present drive and we would like to invite you and our local supported community groups to mobilise their members to give a gift to someone in need in our community this Christmas. Now in it’s 5th year, last year we were able to pass on 1,500 donated gifts, toys, toiletries, and food hampers directly to those in need. 5 local charities have been invited to receive the donated gifts this year. These charities will choose from the donated gifts and pass them on directly to those in need in their care. The local charities we are collecting gifts for: The Lokahi Foundation (local domestic violence charity),  Bayside Women’s Shelter (local domestic violence shelter),The Deli (local domestic violence charity),Project Kindness (To help those struggling in our community),Caring Kids charity (toys for child carers) We gratefully receive all donations however you would like to
